European Week for Waste Reduction

EWAV is Europe's largest communication campaign on waste prevention and reuse. Its focus: to show practical ways out of the throwaway society. All Europeans are to be made aware of the need to deal more consciously with everyday objects and resource consumption and to avoid waste wherever possible. In Germany, the campaign is funded by the European Climate Protection Initiative. The Federal Environment Agency (UBA) is the technical contact. The campaign week has been coordinated by the Association of Municipal Enterprises (VKU) since 2014. The German Federal Ministry for the Environment is an official partner of the EWAV.
