Emissions trading, as the European Union’s key climate protection instrument, is to be further strengthened and aligned with the European climate target for 2040 and climate neutrality in Europe by 2050 at the latest.
BMUKN and INTERPOL are expanding their cooperation to combat environmental crime and are providing 1.5 million euros for the “GAIA” project, which has already launched more than 500 investigations.
The focus of the conference is on the crucial importance of environmental protection and climate action for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to send a clear message against deep-sea mining.
