State Secretary Adler: German companies' water management expertise benefits the economy and the environment

27.10.2015

State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, Gunther Adler, spoke about challenges related to water resources, food security and environmental protection at the German Water Partnership Forum today. The forum took place as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of German-Israeli relations and was organised by the German Water Partnership (GWP) network and the German-Israeli company Netafim.

State Secretary Adler said: "Environmental protection and climate action provide huge economic opportunities for German industry. Especially in the water sector, flexibility, innovative thinking and cultural sensitivity are particularly important. German utilities and waste management companies have these skills. Using this know-how in developing markets abroad will benefit both the economy and the environment."

The German Water Partnership is a network of private and public companies from the water sector, expert associations and economic, scientific and research institutes. The initiative is supported by five federal ministries: the environment, research, development and economic affairs ministries and the Foreign Office.
