UN 2026 Water Conference: Germany and Mexico launch international online consultation

For the Interactive Dialogue E “Water in Multilateral Processes,” Germany and Mexico are collecting perspectives from UN Member States, UN organizations, and stakeholders through an online consultation process.

Call for contributions, perspectives and ideas to strengthen global water governance

As Co-Chairs of Interactive Dialogue E "Water in Multilateral Processes", Germany and Mexico invite participation in an international online consultation as part of the preparations for the 2026 UN Water Conference, a key milestone for advancing global cooperation on water and accelerating progress towards SDG 6.

The consultation seeks input from UN Member States as well as representatives of international organizations, academia, civil society, the private sector, youth and other relevant stakeholders. It focuses on strengthening global water governance, better integrating water across multilateral processes and advancing the implementation of SDG 6 beyond 2030.

The contributions received will feed into the futher discussions in preparation for the 2026 UN Water Conference. The online consultation is open until 9 August 2026.
