Shares of drinks filled in reusable drinks packaging
Note: As of 1 January 2019, the shares of drinks filled in reusable drinks packaging are determined in accordance with Section 31 of the Packaging Act (Verpackungsgesetz). The term "ecologically advantageous one-way drinks packaging" was not included in the Packaging Act. For comparison, the figures in accordance with the old Packaging Ordinance (Verpackungsverordnung) are given below:
A compulsory deposit for one-way drinks packaging was introduced on 1 January 2003 for the following types of drinks:
- from 1 January 2003: for carbonated soft drinks, mineral water and beer
- from 1 May 2006: for soft drinks (carbonated and non-carbonated), mineral water, beer and mixed alcoholic drinks
Ecologically advantageous one-way drinks packaging means:
- drinks carton packaging (brick packs, gable-top cartons and cylinder packaging)
- drinks packaging in the form of polyethylene bags
- stand-up pouches
