Gorleben salt dome

Mining exploration at the Gorleben site was ended under the StandAG. The Gorleben salt dome, like every other site under review, will be included in the site selection procedure in accordance with the criteria and requirements laid down in the StandAG. In accordance with the StandAG, the federal government is required to keep the Gorleben salt dome site open for as long as it remains a potential site in the site selection process while ensuring all legal requirements are met.
