Finance for a Planet Free of Harm from Chemicals and Waste

The Berlin Forum on Chemicals and Sustainability is a high-level event initiated by the Federal Ministry for the Environment. It aims to create momentum on the road towards a planet free of harm from chemicals and waste. This year's Berlin Forum will contribute to preparing the first International Conference of the Global Framework on Chemicals, scheduled for November 2026. It will be an excellent opportunity to discuss meaningful decisions on GFC implementation, to showcase progress made so far and to invite new actors to strengthen the global collaborative efforts to address the pollution crisis.

The focus of this year's Berlin Forum will be on leveraging public and private finance to support the implementation of the GFC. The event will take place online. It is organised in collaboration with the Inter-Organization Programme for the Sound Management of Chemicals. Representatives from governments, International Organisations, civil society, industry and the finance sector will participate in the discussion. H.E. Carsten Schneider, Federal Minister for the Environment, and H.E. Inger Andersen, UNEP Executive Director & UN Under-Secretary-General, will open the event.
