Explanatory film (short): Safely recovering and disposing of old munitions in the sea
Video
Huge quantities of munitions from both world wars of the last century lie on the seabed of the Baltic and North Seas. The shells of the munitions are rusting and toxic explosive compounds are already seeping into the marine environment. In the long term, the munitions pose a high risk to marine ecosystems and humans.
